Basic open water course: We teach all levels, but you begin here.

Go to Hollywoodivers.com. Click "start diving now PADI link" and proceed to the PADI website.
Pay the $120.00 online course fee. Make sure you choose Hollywoodivers as your facility.
Complete the PADI online training and do all of the chapter reviews before first meeting.
Call Hollywood Divers (323-969-9875) to schedule your Practical SCUBA Training.
Our Schedule is available online on our “Forms” page.
A few days before class begins, come in for rental fitting and scuba gear purchase.
Preparation and fees:
1. PADI Online E code $120.00 You can do this now. See Hollywoodivers.com
2. Course tuition fee: $299 due upon rental pickup
3. Log book: $14.99 due before 1st day of diving
4. Student record folder: $2.99 Due when you come in to sign up
5. Dive tables: $15.99 or Learning Dive Computers Book for $20.00
Needed to complete Homework and Review exam.
Dive table not required if you use a diving computer.
6. Hotel $45.00 to $150.00 per night depending on your tastes. Book when ready.
7. Catalina Express $67.00 approx. Depending on fuel prices. Book the day after your pool session.
You will also need the following: Personal Gear.
Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Boots. Gloves, Hood With Gear Bag and Mask Defogger.
Hollywoodivers has packages that include free Gear Bag and De-fogger Approx.$159.00 and Up.
We have Inexpensive as well as State of Art Gear.
Completing this basic scuba course will allow you to enjoy safe scuba diving for years.
The OW course will allow you to rent or buy SCUBA and dive without an Instructor or Guide.
Basic Scuba Open Water Courses are taught over two consecutive weekends.
They are taught as group lessons.
There will be 6 or less divers on your water team.
The Purchase of Mask, Fins, Booties, Gloves, Snorkel and Hood (Personal Gear)
should be done early in this process.
We want to make certain you have this gear before the first day of class so there are no surprises and that you have time to learn appropriate material on orientation day.
We do not rent the personal items and recommend you spend at least 45 minutes with us at our shop to make good decisions.
Your experience will be more fun for you if you allow us to fit you properly.
The first Saturday is Orientation.
This Classroom begins Saturday at 9 AM at Hollywood Divers Classroom and will conclude between 12 noon and 1PM.
You must have all of your online academic training completed before coming to this session.
During this time you will be asked to fill out all of the medical and statement of understanding paperwork.
Minors will be required to have a parent present at this session.
Topics, First day : Dive planning, A review exam, Gear Setup.
We require a fitting and pickup of the included rental gear prior to this meeting.
Sunday: pool meeting at 7:15 AM at Cleveland High School Campus Indoor Swim Gym.
The pool training modules contain continued practice in gear assembly, and the required skills to get you ready for the Ocean.
We will have you in the pool by 8 AM Sunday and you will train until 12:30 pm. You will be Debriefed and free to go by 1 pm.
The week between Classroom / Pool and your Ocean, Hollywood Divers will be able to answer your questions and help with any gear issues that arise.
You will keep the Rental gear until the Monday or Tuesday after your Certification day.
If You are a Referral OW student you will turn in your gear after the pool and have your referral papers signed so that you may finish the Ocean Training on your vacation.
The Next weekend after your pool training Take either a Friday afternoon or the Saturday 6:15 am Catalina Express or Helicopter to Avalon California. You will be on Catalina Island for the Weekend.
Your Boat Fees will be paid directly to the Catalina Express or Helicopter .
Expect $65 to $70 roundtrip or $165 to $175 for Helicopter.
Open water dives are completed at the famed, Catalina Casino Point Underwater Park at Avalon.
A protected area, free from boat traffic and with it’s own air fill station.
We start diving at 8 AM each morning so Be on the Early Boat.
Hotel stays at the Seaport Village Inn, Hermosa Hotel or any other Avalon Hotel or Campground that you desire.
Your Hotel stay is not included in the price of our tuition / training fees.

Sat: Scuba dives 1 and 2 and 3 Weather Permiting - Log book entries with Instructor. After diving you are free to explore Catalina.
There are lot’s of shops, and sights to see. .
Sun: Scuba dives 3 and 4 - log book entries. Go Fun Diving if you so desire.
You have the rental gear until Tuesday with no penalty. Stay an extra day and dive Monday if you want.
3:15 pm or Later boat departure for Long Beach. If you want to fun dive after certification take a later boat.
Monday or Tuesday: Return rental gear to Hollywood Divers washed and clean.
We take your Picture in our Shop and register you online and you can receive a copy of your Certification that day.

2 tenths of a mile from Universal Studios Blvd. a short walk from the the Universal Metro Subway Stop.
Parking is in the free, secure garage

Sun 7:15am- 1:00pm at Cleveland HS in Reseda (located 8140 Vanalden Ave, Reseda , CA 91335)

Sat 8am til 3pm Catalina Casino Point Underwater Park
Sun 8am til 2 pm Catalina Casino Point. Underwater Park
Your Personal equipment should be high quality gear designed for scuba diving. Sorry, no pool toys.
We require you to bring in any personal gear that you already own prior to class so that we can ensure you don’t get bogged down with gear failure.
Of course, if you own gear and your gear fits and is safe, we will allow you to use it and we all stay on schedule.
